A governmental and first responder buzz word and tactic in use today. This buzz word is disgusting to us because it means, someone will get injured or killed before anyone arrives to help with medical and stop a crime or mass shooting. Fire departments and Paramedics can not do their jobs until the scene is cleared and deemed safe by law enforcement. Clearing a scene could take hours, as Uvalde school massacre proved to us.

Threats in todays world that you need to be prepared for

Remember that first responders are always, 10 plus minutes away
from saving you and your family in every type of emergency scenario.

Violent Crimes:

Aggravated assault: An unlawful attack with the intent to inflict severe or aggravated bodily injury.
Robbery: The taking or attempted taking of anything of value from the care, custody, or control of a person or persons by force or threat of force.
Rape: Sexual penetration without the consent of the victim.

Property Crimes:

Larceny- theft: This is the most frequently occurring crime overall, encompassing things like shoplifting, pickpocketing, and theft from vehicles.
Burglary: Involves unlawful entry into a structure with the intent to commit a crime, typically theft.
Motor vehicle theft: Includes the theft or attempted theft of a motor vehicle.

According to the FBI, crime statistics are reflecting a downward trend in overall crime. I don't rely on crime stats when it comes to protecting my family because I refuse to allow my family to become victims and a government statistic. We want everyone to feel the same way because, you are your families first responder and you cant afford to wait 10 plus minutes for the police to show up.

Less likely threats:

Natural Disasters: Fires, Floods, Tornadoes, Hurricanes, Earthquakes, Volcanoes etc. Obviously these threats depend on where you live, where you travel to on vacation and business trips.
Terrorism: Wherever you go that has a large number of people will be a target.
Mass shootings: Wherever you go that has a large number of people will be a target.
School shootings: Children will always be a target and Schools are still a very soft target for bad actors regardless of their motives.
Protests: Do you have a plan if you accidently find a protest in progress? Especially if and when it becomes violent.
Riots: Do you have a plan if you accidently find a riot in progress? Especially because riots are inherently violent.
